About us

ZenRider designs gear for riders who spend hours in the saddle. Not for those who do thirty kilometres on a Sunday.

A rider stopped at the side of an Alpine pass road

Where it all began

My name's Alex. The turning point was a trip through the Alps.

On paper, everything was perfect: a bike built to eat up the kilometres, stunning mountain passes, and time on my hands. In reality, I was stopping constantly. Not for the view, not for fuel: to get off the bike and wait for the pain to pass. Every forty minutes, sometimes less.

What annoyed me most was that I had no excuse. I was in my late fifties, in good health, and I'd been riding all my life. The problem wasn't me: it was the two centimetres of foam carrying the entire weight of my body.

Once I got home, I tried everything. Gel blocks that go hard after an hour. Memory foam that flattens and never recovers. Inflatable cushions that make you feel like you're riding on a balloon. None of them tackled the real cause: pressure concentrated on the tailbone.

What we did differently

Hexagonal gel cell structure with its central channel

Rather than adding thickness, we worked on distribution. A structure of hexagonal TPE gel cells, each free to compress on its own, with a channel running through the centre that takes the load completely off the tailbone. That's the SelleZen.

The result is counter-intuitive: the seat is firmer than a standard cushion, and that's exactly why it's more comfortable by the third hour.

A range built on customer feedback

The pillion cushion, the UV protective covers, the lumbar support belt, the wrist support, the earplugs, the glasses with interchangeable lenses, the helmet-carrying backpack: none of this was planned at the start. Every product exists because riders told us what was still bothering them.

That's also why the range is tightly focused. We only launch a product once we understand exactly the problem it solves.

How we work

Three riders on a long winding road at sunrise

Our prototypes are tested on the road, by riders who put in the kilometres, not on a test bench. Each version goes out to a dozen of them for several weeks before it gets the green light.

Our commitment

A straight road through the seasons, a rider in the distance

Our products prove themselves after several hours in the saddle, not in a shop. That's why the guarantee runs for 100 days, not fourteen. Take the time to do your usual rides, your weekends, your first long trip of the season. If it makes no difference for you, we'll give you a refund.
